Ununpentium Production

Ununpentium Production

Ununpentium can be synthesize via fusing Calcium-48 nuclei accelerated to 248 MeV and 253 MeV with Americium-243 target. During this reaction two different isotopes of Ununpentium, 287 and 288 can be produced:

²⁴³₉₅Am + ⁴⁸₂₀Ca -> ²⁸⁷₁₁₅Uup + 4¹n
²⁴³₉₅Am + ⁴⁸₂₀Ca -> ²⁸⁸₁₁₅Uup + 3¹n
